Binance said a compromised DevOps engineer laptop may have allowed an attacker to access a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions, while finding no evidence of a wallet private-key leak. The exchange estimated the impact at about USD 6.3 billion, said roughly USD 3 billion had been frozen on-chain, and suspended deposits and withdrawals during security checks. Binance said it revoked the affected address authorization, engaged law enforcement and blockchain-intelligence partners, and will cover losses from SAFU and company funds.
