On-chain researchers and subsequent FBI-linked reporting associated the stolen funds and laundering patterns with DPRK TraderTraitor-affiliated actors, also known as Lazarus Group and APT38, with funds swapped for ETH and bridged toward Bitcoin and Avalanche in patterns resembling prior Lazarus cryptocurrency thefts.
