2016-06-06 • Another SWIFT Attack Speeds Worry About Response — and Responsibility
SWIFT is the interbank messaging network used by financial institutions to exchange payment and transaction instructions; it does not itself hold funds. North Korea-linked APT38 penetrated financial networks, located internal SWIFT systems, and used specialized tooling to support fraudulent transfers and large-scale theft.
