An archive of roughly two million Slack messages from 1,236 accounts exposes daily life inside North Korean IT-worker compounds assessed to be in Rason. Workers followed U.S. business hours, lived under screen monitoring, used Astrill and remote-access infrastructure, and faced monthly earnings quotas whose shortfalls could curtail recreation or send them home. Their discussions of North Korean locations, holidays, language, food, currency, domestic travel, and party obligations support the report’s high-confidence DPRK assessment. The source also provides employers with behavioral, scheduling, linguistic, device, and network signals that should be evaluated in combination rather than treated as standalone proof.
